É uma das zonas mais bem preservadas desta província, coberta pelo característico montado de sobro e azinho, suavemente ondulado, escassamente povoada, onde se pode, nas noites sem nuvens, ter uma visão da noite estrelada como é já difícil encontrar noutras zonas do país.
A casa foi pensada como se tratasse de uma obra de arte feita a quatro mãos. O projecto foi elaborado pelo Arq. Bartolomeu Costa Cabral, conhecido pela sua linguagem simultaneamente moderna e clássica e pela grande atenção que dá à relação da construção com o espaço envolvente e às condições de habitabilidade: iluminação natural, relação entre os materiais, funcionalidade inteligente dos espaços e a sua articulação.
