ALCOBAÇA was considered, by the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (DECO), as one of the Portuguese cities with the highest quality of life, a classification based on parameters such as the balanced cost of housing, compared to other national district capitals, the cost of living, good labor market conditions or waste management.

Among its various historical and cultural attractions, the Monastery of Alcobaça stands out for its position around which the village developed, from the 15th century. The monastery was founded by D. Afonso Henriques in 1148 and completed in 1222.
The monastery of Alcobaça was classified by UNESCO in 1989 as a World Heritage Site.
Alcobaça also stands out in the national panorama for its industrial centers, its rich gastronomy, its conventual sweets, so well awarded, for the varied cultural offer and for being a very desirable city to live and raise a family.
