This house, traditionally decorated with blue outlines, benefits from a lot of natural light, is welcoming and very well maintained. Its small, very green garden which overlooks the surrounding fields, includes a long terrace, a small swimming pool and a barbecue area. The house was built in 2001 as a holiday home only. It is located on a road with little traffic at the exit of a small village. Privacy is ensured by a perimeter wall. In the centre, we enter a living room with 2 french windows to the terrace, a wood fire burning insert, a small cellar, a large mezzanine which supports the living room located on the 1st floor and the staircase which leads to it. At the top of the stairs is a living room / office, with a french window toa small balcony over the garden, from which you can admire the view over the fields, a storage room and a large suite with its own bathroom with bathtub . A covered terrace runs along the back of the house overlooking the south-facing garden. It is covered with large slate stones on the ground and wood under the roof. At its end, is a nice oven for the barbecue. The gravelled garden is landscaped with many plants and trees : magnolias, linden, horse chestnut, fig, cherry, pear, lemon, camel trees, dwarf pomegranate, peony, rose bushes, holly, etc... It is equipped with automatic irrigation and paths that lead to a cute little old water tank that serves as a swimming pool. All this makes it a very relaxing outdoor space to enjoy the countryside while staying cool. All the doors and interior shutters as well as the cupboards (integrated into the walls), the staircase and the mezzanine are made of solid oak wood. The floor is tiled on the ground floor, apart from the bedrooms which have parquet flooring just like the 1st floor. The windows are PVC double glazed. There are oil radiators for heating, in addition to the fireplaces. The house is connected to the main water and electricity networks. The village is located in the Natural Park of São Mamede, 5 minutes drive from the Spanish border, 15 minutes from the medieval village of Marvão and 20 minutes from the big city of Portalegre.
